Cybercrime has been growing tremendously in recent years. In fact, the head of Interpol calls Ransomeware one of the biggest problems of the Internet today.
The lack of a clear governance model that can assess all metaverse variants for transparency and accountability is currently lacking. There are already 47 different platform providers. In short this is growing so fast that the legal regulators are not aware of what is going on.
Criminals are also getting more and more creative. The trade in NFTs and crypto is therefore colored by the fact that drug money is laundered through these networks.
And unfortunately, you also see children being used as money mules. You get free money and then without realizing it you are part of a money laundering operation.
Whenever a lot of money is made somewhere, there are always certain forces present that abuse people’s gullibility.
In this course, you will gain insight into the total cybercrime landscape and we will try to relate this to the various MetaVerse platforms as well as possible. This is also literally a completely new field that is under development. By the end of this course, you will be able to guard against the most common forms of cybercrime in the MetaVerse. After all, it is better to avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime.
